We also collect limited usage data (such as pages visited, game progress records, and timestamps) to operate the game engine and provide reporting features to Servants.

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Advent Search platform
Process payments and manage access via Stripe
Send invitation emails and account notifications
Provide Servants with Searcher progress reports
Respond to support requests and inquiries
Ensure the security and integrity of the platform

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Payment Information

Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Advent Search does not store credit card details on our servers. All transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. Please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details on how your payment data is handled.

4. Children's Privacy

Advent Search is designed to be used by families. Searcher accounts (typically children) are created and managed by Servants (parents or adult guardians). We collect minimal information for Searchers and do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental or guardian oversight through the Servant account system.

5. Data Retention

Servant accounts and associated Searcher data are retained while your account remains active. Custom Search data created by Servants requires annual renewal by the end of October to be retained into the next season. Upon expiration without renewal, custom data may be deleted. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us.

6. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your game state. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to use the platform.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption, secure password hashing, nonce-based form protection, and data sanitization to protect your information. The platform is hosted on SiteGround with routine backups and access controls.
