Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using Advent Search. By registering or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Advent Search platform at adventsearch.net, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. User Roles & Accounts

The platform supports four roles: Administrator, Servant, Searcher, and Organization Admin. Each role has defined permissions and responsibilities.

Servants are adults (18+) responsible for setting up and managing the Advent Search game for their Searchers. By registering as a Servant, you accept responsibility for the Searchers you invite and manage.

Searchers are participants — often minors — whose accounts are created and overseen by Servants. Servants are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent where applicable.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Note: This information regarding pricing is not necessarily applicable to negotiated bulk contract pricing with churches and organizations.

Servant (Search set-up person) access is available on the following terms: Two kinds of Searches are available for individual families and groups:

Default Search Access — for those set-up people (Servants) who prefer to use the existing Default Search with content provided, such as Riddles, Treasure (scripture), videos, and quotes.
Seasonal Created Search Access — for those people who prefer to create their own content, such as Riddles, Treasure (scripture), videos, and quotes.
Default Search Access: $10 per account for a 12-month period from date of purchase.
Seasonal Created Search Access: $10 per season, expiring automatically on January 31. Renewal must occur before the end of October to retain custom Search data.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are subject to change; current pricing is displayed in the Stripe checkout and may be adjusted in the Stripe dashboard without prior notice. Refunds are not guaranteed but may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at [email protected].

4. Data Retention & Renewal

Custom Search data created by Servants is retained while the account is active. Seasonal Created Search Access expires on January 31 each year. If renewal does not occur before the end of October, custom Search data associated with that account may be deleted. Advent Search is not liable for loss of data due to non-renewal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Advent Search only for its intended purpose — a family-oriented Christmas Advent Calendar and Treasure Hunt experience. You may not:

Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the platform
Use the platform for commercial purposes without prior written agreement
Input unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate content in any custom fields
Attempt to circumvent access controls, paywalls, or security measures

6. Intellectual Property

All platform content, design, code, and default game content (riddles, scripture selections, clue card designs, and imagery) are the intellectual property of Advent Search or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from platform content without written permission.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Advent Search is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Advent Search shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
